Tap to Pay will compete with services like Square, allowing merchants in the United States to accept payments simply by bringing their device closer to the customer. It will also work with contactless credit and debit cards. Apple states that this feature will be included in an upcoming iOS beta update, only available on iPhone XS or 10S models and later.
